We rented a jeep from this company for a day on the island of Lanai. Jim picked us up at the ferry dock and gave us a brief tour as we headed to the main town. He gave us detailed information about the island and went over the map in detail before leaving us to explore. His advice for planning our day was invaluable! He really made our experience so much better because it was as if we had a personal guide as we set out to explore on our own. Afterwards we left the car in the main town and my husband took the shuttle back to the ferry dock to meet us. Everything worked out really well and Jim made the experience very personal.
Their rentals are based on a calendar day that ends at 6:00 PM. When I complained about paying $125 for a four hour rental and asked for a pro-rated rate they cancelled my reservation while I was en route.
Was able to get a great vehicle that suited my family's needs at a reasonable price. The staff was courteous and gave good local knowledge on where to go and how to make the most of our day. We toured Shipwreck Beach, Garden of the Gods and hit up the Lana'i Cat Sanctuary before ultimately heading down to Manele Bay. My family even got to enjoy an amazing swim with dolphins just meters away. Lanai Cheap Jeeps made for fantastic experience and memories we'll forever cherish. Mahalo!
If you visit Lanai and plan on doing anything outside of town you will need a Jeep. LCJ is one of only a couple places in town. The owner will meet you at the harbor and drive you up to town where the rental details will be finalized. Gas up the Jeep at the only station in town before they close. At the end of your trip, you will then have to arrange a shuttle from town, back to the harbor for $10. This is a locally owned company and you should treat their Jeeps as you would your own car--practice Aloha and don't abuse them! Being a local company means you will get firsthand service and communication from the owner who is extremely helpful and kind. Enjoy Lanai and tread lightly!
Very rude lady. I called and asked for kamaaina discount " we don't offer kamaaina" okay, I called Dollar and they quoted me $135 per day can you match their price? "Then call Dollar," click and she hung up the phone. Learn to respect your customers or you'll lose more business or even your entire business.
